Amex Exploration’s Perron Project – High Grade Rhyolite-hosted Au in the Abitibi
The Perron project is in the Normetal-Burntbush portion of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, QC. Gold mineralization associated with a regional D2 deformation event, hosted within quartz veins in a sodic rhyolite host rock, has been identified in several zones across the property. The High Grade Zone, aptly named, occurs in an extensional setting associated with secondary/tertiary structures which are oblique to regional thrust faults. The Denise, Gratien, and Grey Cat zones are more conventional shear-zone related orogenic type gold systems and parallel the regional structures. Gold mineralization in all zones is closely related to VMS-type sulfide mineralization, including sphalerite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, and minor galena.
