Unravelling gold metallogenic evolution of the Urban-Barry belt: a look at a booming region

The Urban-Barry belt hosts different styles of gold mineralization (>10 Moz). Gold generally occurs in quartz-carbonate±sulphide±albite±tourmaline veins controlled by structures of different generations. Although recent work in the area has provided new insights, the timing of belt-scale gold events as well as the structural framework have yet to be resolved and remain crucial to understanding the metallogenic evolution of this emerging region. To answer these questions, current work is focusing on advanced projects such as Windfall and Barry, as well as the belt as a whole.
