Andrea Amortegui
Andrea Amortegui holds a bachelor’s degree in earth sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. After her undergraduate studies, she went on to complete a master’s degree at the Université de Montpellier in France, focusing on the structure of the Earth’s lithosphere, and a doctorate in geochemistry at the Université de Grenoble. She also completed post-doctoral studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Dr. Amortegui has worked for the Direction générale de Géologie Québec in Quebec’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources since 2010. She previously worked as a scientific advisor for the Direction générale de Géologie Québec until 2017, before moving on to management positions. Dr. Amortegui has held the role of Quebec’s director of acquisition of geoscience knowledge since 2018.
