The Opemiska Project: the Renewal of an Old Mining Camp

See program info

The Chapais Mining Camp, which produced a third of the copper in the Chibougamau-Chapais area and operated for 40 years from four underground mines, has been the subject of renewed exploration that lead to an openpit Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) in 2021 of 81.7M tonnes grading 0.65% copper and 0.31 gpt gold in the Measured and Indicated categories and an additional 21.4M tonnes at 0.51% copper and 0.30 gpt gold in the Inferred category. This presentation will summarize our recent efforts and includes a new interpretation of the mineralized envelopes surrounding the historical veins.
