Alban Duvernois

Eng. TREP
Northern Graphite
  • After studying at UniLasalle Beauvais in France, Alban Duvernois received an engineering bachelor’s in geology in 2017. In 2019, he began working on a master’s in environmental mining on the topic of “Developing a predictive methodology for environmental assessment during mining exploration,” which he completed in 2022. From 2017 to 2018, meanwhile, Alban worked for the MERN on creating a stratigraphic lexicon of geological units in the James Bay sector. In April 2022, he began work at Northern Graphite’s Lac-des-Îles graphite mine as an environment, health and safety manager.

Developing a predictive methodology for environmental assessment during mining exploration

See program info

Environmental assessments are studied once a mining project has progressed to a later stage of development and are based on several crucial tests, including static and kinetic testing. These tests require time and money, and also a large number of samples. Accordingly, preliminary environmental information that helps detect potential contamination is essential for cutting down on the number of samples needed to assess the overall environmental impact of the project.
