Quentin Fayard

Eng. M.Sc.
Laurentia Exploration
  • Originally from New Caledonia, Mr. Fayard obtained his engineering degree in geology in France (UniLasalle, 2016) and arrived at UQAC in 2015 for the professional master’s degree in mineral exploration. He started working for Soquem in 2016 where he participated in several prospecting and drilling campaigns. In parallel, he completed a master’s degree on the B26 VMS deposit (Selbaie) at UQAC, in partnership with the GSC. In 2019 he joined Laurentia Exploration for different Au and Cu-Zn projects, and joined the Perron project of Amex Exploration in October 2020.

Towards a renewal of the Normétal Mining Camp: Update of the state of knowledge on the lithogeochemistry, geology and metallogeny of the Normétal Volcanic Complex

See program info

The Normétal Volcanic Complex is known for its historic volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit Normétal (10.1 Mt @ 2.15% Cu, 5.12% Zn, 0.55 g/t Au and 45.25 g/t Ag), its Normetmar deposit, and more recently for the high-grade gold deposits hosted in the Beaupré Block on Amex Exploration’s Perron Property. The amount of data accumulated from the drilling campaigns carried out since 2013 (~300 000 m), has made it possible to refine the metallogenic understanding of the sector. Emphasis will be made on the potential for VMS-type mineralization.
