  • Jeff Killeen joined the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) in 2018 as Director, Policy & Programs to lead the association’s policy programming, advocacy and government relations efforts. Mr. Killeen was previously a Director of Institutional Equity Research for CIBC World Markets, providing analysis and recommendations to professional investors worldwide. Mr. Killeen has conducted due diligence on mineral assets on five continents, and has worked in exploration and mine geology in several major Canadian mining camps including the Sudbury basin and the Abitibi greenstone belt. Mr. Killeen holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Geology from Carleton University.

Mineral Finance 2022 – A Critical Year for Exploration in Canada

A high-level retrospective of metal prices will provide a backdrop to outline investment dynamics that have played out within the mineral industry over the last 12 to 18 months. Commentary will cover global and domestic financing activity in 2021 and how this funding has been deployed across the sector, from both a regional and commodity perspective. The presentation will also cover highlights from Federal Budget 2022, the possible positive impacts it may spur and what advocacy priorities PDAC has identified in the near-term to ensure the nearly $4 billion committed to bolster Canada’s mineral industry is implemented effectively.
