Jean-Yves Labbé
After completing his undergraduate and master’s education in geology at Université Laval in Québec City, Jean-Yves Labbé earned a doctorate in mineral resources from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in 1994, with a specialization in structural geology . He has worked for the Direction générale de Géologie Québec in Quebec’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources since 1992. In this capacity, he has worked in geological mapping in the regions of Abitibi and James Bay, in regional metallogeny in northern Quebec, and in mineral potential assessment . He has held a management position since 2014 and currently serves as the director of geological information and promotion.
