Copper and Gold vein mineralization in the Chibougamau mining camp: review of exploration guides

See program info

The Chibougamau mining camp is known for its vein-type copper-gold mineralization hosted within the Anorthositic Series of the Doré Lake Complex. ‘’Follow the dykes and they will tell you where the mine is’’. This famous quote by geologist Gilles O. Allard is still relevant today, as most of the mineralized veins are associated with basic to felsic dykes interpreted as coming from the Chibougamau Pluton. This talk will summarize the metallotects used by Doré Copper to find additional mineralization in the vicinity of its Copper Rand mill.
