  • Sébastien obtained his bachelor’s degree in geology from Laval University in 2005 and his master’s degree in Earth science from UQAC in 2011. He has 15 years of experience in gold exploration in an Archean context, in Abitibi and James Bay regions. He is now the principal geologist at O3 Mining, where he explores with his team the Marban and Alpha properties in order to discover and expand several gold deposits.

Marban: Geology of the next mining project within the prolific Malartic district

O3 Mining has been exploring the Marban project for just over 2 years and has succeeded in defining 2.4 Moz of gold in the indicated resources category. The gold is mainly related to an early mineralization event and is hosted in deformed zones rich in quartz-calcite-chlorite veinlets hosted within iron-rich basalt or within a swarm of dioritic and calc-alkaline dykes. Despite an impressive number of holes drilled in the past on the property, several areas of interest remain to be explored, in particular the extensions at depth and laterally of the known mineralized zones.
